Awareness Session on POCSO Act (2012) and Anti-Drug Campaign Held at Bindapur Police Station
An awareness session on the POCSO Act (2012) and Anti-Drug campaign was held at Bindapur Police Station by DCPU–IX and SJPU, with IACT Education as knowledge partner, engaging 43 participants on child safety and drug prevention.
New Delhi, October 24, 2025:
An awareness session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Anti-Drug Awareness was successfully conducted today at the Sangam Community Education Centre, located within Bindapur Police Station, South-West District, Delhi.
The session was organized by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU–IX) in collaboration with the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), South West, under the supervision of Mr. Rajesh Kumar (ASI). IACT Education associated as the Knowledge Partner for this important community outreach initiative, reinforcing its commitment to youth awareness and child safety.
A total of 43 participants, including local children, adolescents, and community members, attended the interactive program aimed at building awareness about child protection laws and the dangers of substance abuse.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bindapur Police Station also addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of understanding the POCSO Act, recognizing abuse, and creating a drug-free community. He urged youth to remain vigilant and report any form of exploitation or suspicious activity without fear.
Participants were also made aware of the Child Helpline Number – 1098, a 24×7 toll-free helpline providing immediate support to children in distress.

- Information shared on types of drugs and their harmful impact on health and society.
- Discussion on peer pressure, addiction, and strategies to resist substance abuse.
- Motivational guidance encouraging youth to pursue education, sports, and positive lifestyles.

- Detailed explanation of the provisions of the Act and its importance in safeguarding children’s rights.
- Practical guidance on identifying, preventing, and reporting sexual offences.
- Interactive question–answer rounds that engaged participants and reinforced key learning outcomes.
The event concluded with an appeal to all participants to act as ambassadors of awareness in their respective communities, spreading the message of protection, vigilance, and responsible citizenship.
