District Magistrate (West District) Hosts Torch Relay to Celebrate 150 Years of the Iconic “Vande Mataram” Song

District Magistrate (West Delhi) hosted a Torch Relay marking 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” joined by youth, IACT Education & Trinity Foundation.

The Office of the District Magistrate (West District), Government of NCT of Delhi, proudly hosted a Torch Relay on the historic occasion of 150 years of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram.” The event was organized in association with IACT Education Pvt. Ltd. and Trinity Foundation, bringing together youth, officials, and citizens in a spirited celebration of national pride and unity.

The Torch Relay commenced from the DM Office Complex, Raja Garden, with its first halt at Rajdhani College, followed by the second halt at Ramesh Nagar Metro Station, and the third halt at J-Block Market, Rajouri Garden. The relay concluded at the DM Office, Raja Garden, symbolizing the journey of unity and patriotism that “Vande Mataram” continues to inspire across generations.

Shri Nitin Shakya, SDM (Patel Nagar) and Nodal Officer (Vande Mataram), expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the enthusiastic participation, stating,

“This Torch Relay is not just a celebration, but a tribute to the timeless spirit of our motherland. The overwhelming participation of youth reflects the deep-rooted respect and emotional connection Indians continue to share with ‘Vande Mataram.’”

The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA of Hari Nagar, who motivated and encouraged the participating youth, appreciating their energy and dedication towards preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.

Dr. Sameer Bhatti, a long-time supporter of such youth-led and community-driven initiatives, also addressed the media after the event. He praised the efforts of the district administration and partner organizations, stating,

“Events like this ignite the flame of patriotism in our younger generation. It’s inspiring to see the District Administration and civil society organizations working together to uphold the values of unity, culture, and national pride.”

The collaborative efforts of IACT Education and Trinity Foundation played a pivotal role in mobilizing volunteers and ensuring the event’s successful execution. Their partnership with the District Administration stands as a testament to the power of community participation in nation-building.

The Torch Relay concluded with a vote of thanks and the singing of “Vande Mataram”, marking a memorable day of patriotic fervor and collective pride in the heart of Delhi.
