New Delhi, October 30, 2025:
Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), today chaired an insightful media briefing session for a delegation of European journalists at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi. The session was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), including the Additional Secretary, along with other senior officials from MSDE.

During the interaction, the delegation was given a comprehensive overview of India’s vast and evolving skilling ecosystem, highlighting the Government’s commitment to creating a future-ready workforce aligned with global industry needs. The discussions focused on India’s National Skill Development Mission, innovative training models, and the growing role of public-private partnerships in enhancing employability and entrepreneurship across diverse sectors.

Secretary Mukherjee emphasized that India’s skill development initiatives are designed not only to empower its youth but also to build bridges with international economies by promoting mutual recognition of skills and global mobility. She shared insights into flagship programs such as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Skill India International Centres, and collaborations with global partners aimed at standardizing training and certification processes.

The session witnessed an engaging Q&A segment, where the visiting journalists interacted directly with ministry officials, discussing India’s strategies for scaling up vocational education, leveraging technology for training delivery, and fostering international cooperation in skills and entrepreneurship.

The media interaction concluded with a collective appreciation from the European delegation, acknowledging India’s progressive and inclusive approach to skill development, its vast training infrastructure, and the vision of making India the “Skill Capital of the World.”
