Special Compendium Released at STPI Tech Summit 2026 Showcasing Journey from Software Exports to Innovation Leadership
New Delhi, June 5: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), marked its 35th Foundation Day with the release of a special commemorative Compendium during the ongoing STPI Tech Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

The Compendium chronicles STPI's three-and-a-half-decade journey in supporting India's software exports, technology entrepreneurship, startup ecosystem, and digital transformation initiatives.
Established in 1991, STPI was created to promote software exports and provide the necessary infrastructure for the emerging information technology sector. Over the years, the organization has evolved into a key institution supporting innovation, startup incubation, emerging technologies, and digital infrastructure development across the country.
The celebrations were held alongside the STPI Tech Summit 2026, organized under the theme "India's Next Leap", bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, academicians, and technology experts to discuss the future of India's digital economy.
Speaking on the occasion, STPI officials highlighted the organization's contribution to the growth of India's IT industry and its role in nurturing innovation-led development. Today, STPI operates through a nationwide network of centres and incubation facilities that support thousands of technology enterprises and startups.

Over the years, STPI has expanded its focus beyond software export promotion to include startup incubation, innovation acceleration, entrepreneurship development, and support for emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, Blockchain, FinTech, DeepTech, and Industry 4.0.
A major focus of STPI's recent initiatives has been strengthening India's startup ecosystem through its Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) and specialized innovation programs. These initiatives have helped hundreds of startups access mentorship, industry networks, funding opportunities, and market linkages.
The organization has also launched SAYUJ, a startup community platform aimed at connecting innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and ecosystem stakeholders through a collaborative digital network.

The STPI Tech Summit 2026 featured keynote addresses, policy discussions, technology showcases, startup presentations, networking sessions, and recognition of outstanding contributions through various industry awards.
The commemorative Compendium released during the event documents key milestones achieved by STPI over the last 35 years, including its contribution to software exports, development of digital infrastructure, startup promotion, and innovation ecosystem building.
The publication also highlights STPI's future vision aligned with national initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat 2047, with a focus on emerging technologies, innovation-driven growth, and inclusive digital development.
As India advances towards becoming a global technology and innovation hub, STPI continues to play a significant role in supporting entrepreneurship, fostering technological innovation, and strengthening the country's digital economy.
The 35th Foundation Day celebrations serve as a tribute to the innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and institutions that have contributed to India's remarkable digital journey and reaffirm STPI's commitment to shaping the next chapter of the nation's technology-led growth.
